Warehouse quality system
-
The warehouse quality system should be as simple and understandable as possible for staff.
-
When implementing a warehouse quality system, we pay special attention to the development of a training system, since usually there is a high turnover of personnel in the warehouse. The introduction of new personnel into the processes should be as efficient as possible.
-
An effective warehouse quality system must meet the diverse requirements of customers, but also ensure the achievement of business results.
-
OREX consultants have extensive experience in building logistics processes. We do not adapt production experience for a development of a warehouse quality system.
The development of a quality system covers the following stages:
-
Diagnostic audit
A diagnostic audit is carried out to get acquainted with the current processes of the warehouse quality system, study the requirements for the processes and their results. At this stage, work is carried out to identify the risks of the warehouse processes for the quality, safety of products and the achievement of the planned results of business processes. The result of the diagnostic audit is an agreed action plan for the development of the management system.
-
Work with infrastructure
Significant warehouse infrastructure is an essential resource for establishing a modern quality system. Such infrastructure includes buildings and premises, access control and video surveillance systems, warehouse and loading equipment, ventilation and air conditioning systems, warehouse accounting programs and operations with warehouse stocks. The storage of food and medical products complements the infrastructure with cold chain equipment, temperature and humidity monitoring equipment. At this stage, OREX consultants are developing processes for maintaining infrastructure elements, ensuring business continuity.
-
Good Storage Practice
The implementation of GSP (Good Storage Practice) is carried out for each warehouse quality system processes. The main practices that are being implemented in the quality system are: stock turnover, placement rules, control of expiration dates, nonconformity management, work with the human factor in cargo picking, ensuring physical security, complaints and claims management, continuous improvement process, process and equipment validation, preparation of products for transportation, cargo consolidation, change management, handling of dangerous goods. An obligatory stage of this module is to conduct quality trainings for personnel.
-
Internal audit and analysis of results
The warehouse quality system is assessed during an internal audit, which is carried out by an OREX expert at the end of a consulting project. The results of the project ensure the functioning of the system through regulated processes, trained personnel and appropriate infrastructure. The warehouse quality system can be certified as a result of compliance with ISO 9001, GDP.
